2XL has developed products that are biodegradable and recyclable. GymWipes, CareWipes and Stage 2 Hand Gel are non-toxic and utilize either biodegradable or recyclable wipe material, dependent on the product chosen.

hard on germs, not the Environment

Ground up Earth

  • Degradable: Substances that can be broken down, but cannot break down on its own naturally. The substances are just made smaller, but not assimilated into the environment; so, they are still a separate substance.
  • Biodegradable: When a substance breaks down naturally with the help of microorganisms through composting or anaerobic digestion. Thus, the substance returns to the earth.
  • Bio-based: Materials that were intentionally made from living, or once living organisms. Materials, chemicals and energy derived from renewable biological resources would all be included in this category of classification. Bio-based materials are often biodegradable, but this is not always the case.

These products can be solids biodegrading into the soil (which we also refer to as compostable). Alternatively, recycling is the reprocessing of materials into new products. Recycling generally prevents the waste of potentially useful materials, reduces the consumption of raw materials and reduces energy usage, and hence greenhouse gas emissions, compared to virgin production. Recyclable materials, also called "recyclables", may originate from a wide range of sources including the home and industry. They include glass, paper, aluminum, asphalt, iron, textiles and plastics.
